Christmas is better when you're in college. No stupid Winter Break homework.

Merry Christmas.

Friday, November 11, 2005

Alright, so here's the much anticipated (yeah right) summary of my college experience thus far.

So far college has been pretty awesome. Aww...what the heck, it's GREAT. It's everything I expected it to be. Classes so far have been fairly easy. I'm taking Eng. 1A, Math 005, and Anthro 001. It's the 6th week of classes and I've already taken my first round of midterms.

Dorm food stinks. I mean, it's better at Lothian than A-I, but still, it stinks. I've figured out that there are only 5 distinguishable sauces the cooks can make: "pesto" sauce, spaghetti sauce, oyster-sesame oil sauce, "curry" (or something like it) sauce, and some sort of sun-dried tomato sauce. I've never seen the same sauces used in so many different ways. Like for example, this "curry" type sauce has been used to make chicken as a gravy, used to coat chicken (which is then baked), used in noodles, and used with beef. And it's the same old sauce. Geez. No creativity in the kitchen.

I like being able to sleep late and wake up late. My schedule is as follows:

Monday:             NOTHING
Tues. & Thurs:    9:40-11:00 Eng.
                          11:10-12:00 Math.
                          6:40-8:00 Anthro
Wedn:                2:10-3:00 Anthro Discussion
                          3:10-4:00 Math Discussion
Fri:                     3:10-4:00 Math Discussion

So yeah, on Tuesdays and Thursdays I have to wake up at 8:30 to shower, eat breakfast, and pack for class. Otherwise, I wake up.....

No problems with Donald as my roommate. We're pretty chill about how things look in our room and how messy it is, although this afternoon I did clean up my desk and room quite a bit. Fairly clean now. What an accomplishment. I actually took the time to do something useful. WOW. My bed is even made.

Joined a small group in AACF. My leaders are Tim Villanueva and Gary Wat. Cool dudes. Meet on Mondays at 8:30 and pretty much go until whenever. Wendsdays are for soup kitchen and AACF. After my 3:10 class I head out w/ Gary and Donald (sometimes) and we go work at the kitchen until around 6:30, after which we go to dinner.

Haven't worked out in a while. I need to start again....although I have been playing racquetball, badmitten(?) and went rock-climbing once. I thought the rock-climbing would be easy, but I'm still sore from going on Tuesday.

I'm done writing for now...don't really know what to talk about. I'm not a good rambler...tell me what you'd like to know.
